Voice In The City
“Empowering young people of today to be the Voice of tomorrow”
“Voice In The City” is a project that is educating children through the power of music, art, poetry, drama and movement to promote social justice and to encourage participants to have a voice and use it to promote all that is good about Liverpool and Merseyside, to enhance community and personal wellbeing and to encourage children and young people to be positive role models within their communities.
It is remarkable that over 10,000 children have been involved in this project to unite the boroughs of Merseyside against social injustice and to champion all that is great about the communities we live in.Joe Anderson Mayor Of Liverpool
In 2009 Voice in the City released a cover of the John Farnham song “You’re the Voice” as part of an anti gun, knife & gang crime campaign, engaging over 6000 children in the Norris Green and Croxteth areas of Liverpool. The campaign was to challenge these communities to take a stand against such crime and aimed at bringing unity in the aftermath of the tragic Rhys Jones shooting.
